Meze Me, Rouse Hill

Tucked away on a quiet street in Rouse Hill at the historic Mungarie home is a new cafe called Meze Me.

Meze Me is one of the newest cafes in Rouse Hill offering a range of dishes with a Middle Eastern/Moroccan/Mediterranean influence.

Located in a historic home the cafe has a homely feel and is very cosy. When I arrived to meet my family on Saturday night, the cafe was buzzing.

To start we shared the mixed Meze plate which contained the best falafel I have ever eaten, fried cauliflower, chicken, lamb balls, the freshest tabouli, baba ganoush, a variety of dips and bread.

For main I ordered the seafood tagine accompanied with couscous and a spicy sauce, it was delicious.

Despite being very busy the staff were very friendly and had time to explain the menu.

Overall I rate MezeMe 9/10, the food was fantastic, staff friendly and the prices were reasonable. If you are in the area I recommend you check it out however you may want to book as it seems to be quite popular!

Blu Ginger, Castle Hill

Located at Castle Hill Towers Piaza is Blu Ginger an Indian restaurant featured in the Entertainment book.

I first experienced Blu Ginger whilst living in Canberra and can confidently say it is my favourite Indian restaurant.

The decor is modern with wooden tables and red cushioned seats,  the walls are covered with a red and gold printed wallpaper.

The food is fantastic, often I dine with a group and we order the 2 course banquet which is great value, however last night it was just my husband and I so we ordered off the menu.

For entree we ordered the Nepalese Chicken Momo an entree I have not seen on the menu before. The Nepalese Chicken Momo is made up of 6 chicken mince dumplings accompanied with a spicy sauce. The dumplings were great, unfortunately the sauce was a touch to spicy for my liking so I used it sparingly.

Our mains consisted of Butter chicken (one of my favourite Blu Ginger dishes, I also love the vegetable korma) and Panjim Fish Curry with a garlic naan and basmati rice, both the curries were great! The chicken in the butter chicken was nice and juicy. The fish curry was quite nice too.

As I am doing Weight Watchers and I had a glass of wine with my meal we decided to skip desert.

Overall I rate Blu Ginger 9/10, the food is great, the prices are good  and service is reasonable, we didn't have too wait too long for our meal nor did we feel like we were being pushed out the door.  You can also BYO wine.

The Entertainment book voucher offers diners 25% off the total bill up to $20.00 value.

Transform your left over jars into mini vases!

Next time you plan on throwing away an empty jar look at the shape of it and if you think you could reuse it peel off the label, wash it, add some pretty ribbon, find some small blooms from your garden and voila you have a mini vase!

Below are two jars that I have kept and turned into mini vases!

If you have an upcoming event why not collect a number of jars, preferably in different shapes and sizes to make a beautiful table arrangement!

Enjoy!

Weight Watchers update - Week 8

I am into Week 8 of Weight Watchers and going strong!  A few weeks ago my weight plateaued however over the past 2 weeks I have lost 1.8kg!

I feel fantastic, over the weekend I lost 5% of my starting body weight, as a reward I bought myself a white Seafolly bikini for my upcoming trip to Thailand!

Tonight I cooked a Warm pesto and haloumi pasta salad, straight from the weight watchers website, it was delicious!

I have only 2.9kg to go to reach my goal weight, I am already fitting into my old clothes and can see the results, I am so happy!
