Cyren, Darling Harbour

On Sunday I spent a beautiful sunny winters day at Darling Harbour. The reason for my visit into the city was to use a red balloon voucher I received last Christmas.

The voucher initially was intended for the 360 Bar and Dining restaurant at Sydney Tower however due to weekend restrictions I had to change it a restaurant which allowed weekend dining so Cyren's it was!
Situated just outside Harbourside at Darling Harbour is Cyren which is part of the Nick's group. The location is fantastic especially if you are sitting outside and the weather is perfect. Who wouldn't want to bask in the sun, take in the views of Darling Harbour and the city and people watch.

On arrival we were greeted by a friendly man who seated us at a small table outside, the restaurant was buzzing with large groups and couples.

Our voucher entitled us to an entree platter, a main platter, two red balloon cupcakes and a complimentary drink.

The platters contained a variety of food, on the entree platter there was two prawn skewers, a stack of Mediterranean vegetables and haloumi, brushetta, calamari, sauce, lemon and olives.

The main platter contained rump steak, lamb chops, soft shell crap, fish, chips, marinated mussels, a selection of sauces and lemon and a Greek salad served in a lettuce cup.

The food was fantastic and good value for money. Looking at my photos the portions look at little small however don't be deceived there is more than enough food on the platters, we were stuffed and unfortunately couldn't finish the main platter.

Service was a little slower than we would have liked as we had to be at the IMAX by 3pm, however it wasn't too bad considering the restaurant was busy.

My overall rating is 7.5/10 which includes location, service and food. I am sure I will dine at Cyren's again.
