A traditonal/Australian Christmas

And that's a wrap! After many weeks of planning, cooking and eating Christmas has come and gone.

This year we hosted Christmas. A combination of traditional Christmas mixed with Australian Christmas would best describe the theme.

Using native flowers and fauna from my garden to decorate the tables added a nice Australian touch.

To eat, along with the various dishes our guests brought, Mr FPL and I cooked traditional Christmas dishes such as turkey, glazed ham, goose fat potatoes, peas and a pavlova.

A refreshing watermelon, coconut water and mint drink (sparkling optinonal) was a hit!

Throwing in some interesting Christmas facts, a round of trivia and exchanging gifts the day was a sucess!

Now to plan the next event.....

A weekend away in Mollymook and Rick Steins beach house

The beach, food, markets, massage, an afternoon in Milton and coffee by the pool sums up a recent trip to Mollymook.

Celebrating my father in law's birthday in style we stayed at Rick Steins refurbished 60's retro style beach house located down the road from Bannisters. Large enough for more than one family we (three families) stayed in the house. Decked out with a kitchen perfect for entertaining and a spa larger than one could imagine the house was great!

With the sun hiding in the clouds for the majority of the weekend it wasn't till the morning we were due to check out that we hit the beach. Regardless it was a lovely weekend, which was as relaxing as it could be with kids!
